Oriental Therapies
Cupping & Gua Sha
Cupping and Gua Sha ("spooning") are additional techniques used in combination with massage to further stimulate the flow of Qi in the body. Cupping is particularly effective in loosening tight muscles and in the treatment of the common cold and other respiratory infections.
Moxibustion
Moxibustion therapy is a traditional Chinese medicine treatment that assists in dispelling cold and damp from the body. It is useful in helping with a wide range of conditions, including aches and pains, colds and flu, and even poor digestion. A practitioner lights one end of a moxa stick, roughly the shape and size of a cigar and holds it close to the area being treated for several minutes.
